Description: I've some people question the purpose and accuracy of thumb shooting. For a Western archer who is trained in a consistent shot process with precise, defined reference points, the rhythmic and rapid thumb shooting methods might look wild and inconsistent with poor results. However, it would be a mistake to assume that traditional styles lack clear process and consistency. If anything, the texts we have are more detailed in their physical and mental processes than modern manuals, albeit written in a way that is relevant to people at the time as opposed to the anatomy and sports science of modern archery. There is no reason why you can't shoot slowly and purposefully. All archery comes down to fundamentals.
